While learning about ecosystems and issues that impact these systems, students built "traps" for invasive species (modeled with an Ozobot).

Music*
5th Grade just completed their Colonial themed performance. They sang songs and played instruments in the style of the Colonial period as well as music that helped them learn about early American History. They also created Garageband compositions in the style of music from the different colonial regions, using instruments and scales from the major immigrants to those areas.
Media Center*
Fifth Graders also participated in the California Young Readers Medal program and read the picture books for older readers. We also looked at primary resources to learn what inspired the authors to write theses incredible stories about quiet heroes.
Fifth Graders continued to refine their research skills and collected information from multiple sources and began to plan a Public Serve Announcement iMovie presentation. We will finish those up when we meet again in April!
